Wealth Management & Financial Planning Sydney

Build, manage and protect your wealth with a long term strategy designed around your goals, circumstances and the life you want your wealth to support. Investment strategy, superannuation, retirement planning, tax aware structuring and estate planning coordination — brought together through an ongoing Wealth Management & Financial Planning relationship and reviewed as your circumstances change.

Strategy first. Products second.

We start with your circumstances rather than with a product. We look at what you own, what you owe, what you earn, what matters to you and what you are working toward. From there, we develop a strategy designed to help build and manage your wealth over time.

That strategy can bring together cash flow, investment portfolios, superannuation, retirement planning, tax aware structuring, personal insurance and estate planning considerations within the agreed advice scope. Where specialist legal or tax advice is required, we work with your solicitor and accountant so the financial plan is coordinated with their advice.

Liabilities and cash flow commitments can be considered when developing the financial plan. Mortgage Broking is a separate specialist service of Private Capital Management and is not part of the Wealth Management advice engagement.

You deal with a named adviser throughout. The strategy is reviewed regularly and when something material changes, so the advice can evolve with your circumstances rather than remaining a plan written once and filed away.

We are a Corporate Authorised Representative of Advice Evolution Pty Ltd. Nathan Ide holds ASIC registration as a Qualified Tax Relevant Provider.

What we advise on

  • Investment Strategy & Portfolio Management

Develop and manage an investment strategy aligned with your objectives, time horizon, risk profile and agreed advice needs. Portfolio construction may consider asset allocation, diversification, costs, tax considerations and the role of different investment types.

  • Superannuation & SMSF Strategy

Advice can include superannuation contributions, investment strategy, retirement structures and, where appropriate, self managed superannuation considerations within the agreed scope of advice.

  • Retirement Planning

Plan for the transition from wealth accumulation to retirement, including superannuation, investment structure, retirement income and the sustainability of your financial position over time.

  • Tax Aware Financial Planning

We consider the tax implications of financial strategies where relevant to the advice, while working with your accountant or tax adviser on matters requiring tax advice.

  • Estate Planning Coordination

We can identify estate planning considerations arising from your financial strategy and work alongside your solicitor or estate planning professional where appropriate.

  • Cash Flow & Wealth Creation

Develop strategies around saving, investing, cash flow and the efficient use of financial resources to support longer-term wealth building objectives.

  • Personal Insurance

Where personal insurance forms part of the agreed financial advice engagement, we can consider life, TPD, trauma and income protection needs alongside the broader financial strategy.

Your wealth management journey

  1. Step 01

    Discovery

A complimentary initial meeting to understand what you own, what you owe, what you earn, what you are working toward and the financial decisions currently in front of you. No personal recommendation is made at this stage.

  2. Step 02

    Strategy & Advice

We model the relevant options and prepare the recommended strategy in writing, including the reasoning, costs, risks and alternatives relevant to the advice.

  3. Step 03

    Implementation

Once you decide to proceed, we help implement the agreed recommendations — including investment and superannuation applications, rollovers and other financial advice administration. We coordinate with your accountant or solicitor where their specialist advice or documents are required.

  4. Step 04

    Ongoing Wealth Management

The relationship continues after implementation. We review the strategy on an agreed cycle and when material circumstances change, monitor and rebalance investments where appropriate, provide ongoing administration support and remain available when new financial decisions arise.

Common questions about wealth management

  • What is wealth management?

Wealth management is an ongoing approach to financial planning that brings together the areas within your advice scope, such as investments, superannuation, retirement planning, cash flow, personal insurance and estate planning considerations, and reviews them as your circumstances change.

  • What is the difference between wealth management and financial planning?

Financial planning generally focuses on developing strategies for specific financial objectives and agreed areas of advice. Wealth management can take a broader, ongoing view of a client's investments, superannuation, retirement planning, cash flow, personal insurance and other agreed areas of their financial position. At Private Capital Management, we use "Wealth Management & Financial Planning" to describe our advice service, with the precise scope of advice agreed with each client.

  • Who can benefit from wealth management?

Our clients include professionals and executives, doctors, lawyers, business owners, investors and people approaching or in retirement. There is no set minimum. What matters more is whether there is enough complexity in your situation for advice to be worth what it costs. This may include multiple income sources, a business, property, an SMSF, or a decision coming up that is hard to reverse.

  • How much does financial advice cost?

Our fees are set out in writing before any work begins, so you know what the advice costs before you decide to take it. We explain how we are remunerated on every recommendation we make, including where a product provider is involved.

  • Can a financial adviser help with superannuation and retirement planning?

Yes. Superannuation and retirement planning sit at the centre of our Wealth Management & Financial Planning service — contributions, investment strategy, fund structure and, where the additional control and responsibilities are justified, whether an SMSF is appropriate, through to structuring a sustainable income once work stops.

  • How does an ongoing wealth management relationship work?

The relationship continues after implementation. We review the strategy on an agreed cycle and when material circumstances change, monitor and rebalance investments where appropriate, provide ongoing administration support and remain available when new financial decisions arise. You deal with a named adviser throughout.

  • How often should I meet with my financial adviser?

The strategy is formally reviewed on an agreed cycle, and we speak whenever something material changes, such as a new job, a property, a business sale or a change at home. You have direct access to a named adviser and our team throughout the relationship.

  • What happens if I also need mortgage advice?

Mortgage Broking is provided through a separate Private Capital Management division and engagement. If lending assistance is relevant, we can introduce you to that specialist team, but credit assistance is not part of the Wealth Management engagement. Personal insurance, by contrast, can form part of a Wealth Management & Financial Planning engagement where it is included in scope.

  • Can you work with my accountant and solicitor?

Yes, and we prefer to. Tax structure and estate planning both sit at the boundary of what a financial adviser does, and the plan works better when the three of us are talking to each other rather than each advising you separately.

  • What is a Statement of Advice?

It is the formal written plan a licensed adviser has to give you before you act on personal financial advice, and it is what your strategy is presented as here. It sets out your position, what we recommend and why, what the alternatives were and why they were not chosen, and what it all costs, including how we are paid and any conflict of interest. It exists so that you can take the recommendation away, read it, and check it.
